Abstract

Antibiotics have proven to be highly effective tool in treating bacterial diseases, both in humans and in plants. Endosymbiotic theory states that mitochondria and chloroplasts have evolved from prokaryotic organism (bacteria). As these extracellular organelle have similar system like bacteria, they are classed as part of the same system. Treatment with some of the antibiotic is known to disrupt the genome of the organelle sometimes leading to male sterility in plants. However, alternative techniques must be found to tackle sickness and other concerns that are as destructive to the environment. One of the finest techniques is to use herbal or medicinal plants.
