Pre-Submission Checklist

Publishing in BIOTICA journals is not an easy task, as we follow some strict criteria as a part of our editorial selection process, with the aim to maintain quality and smart publication. To be selected, you need to prepare your manuscript well and carefully. No matter how good your research is, the manuscript may be rejected if it is not prepared in accordance with the journal's guidelines. To avoid such early rejection, please follow the pre-submission checklist provided below.

Checklist

Once the manuscript is written and the Author(s) is/are ready to submit, make sure to tick off every item from the following check-list to avoid rejection on purely formal grounds.

General Checklist

  • The submitted manuscript must not been previously published, nor is it submitted before in any other journal for consideration.
  • The language (English only) used in the article should be formal, precise and appropriate to the anticipated audience, and it should also be free of bias. Any nonstandard abbreviations, specialized terminology and discipline-specific jargon should be used and explained as per the journal guidelines.
  • Author(s) are suggested to go through the Authors' Guidelines once before the submission of their manuscript to Research Biotica.
  • All the authors must sign the Authors’ Agreement Form describing their role in the article and taking responsibility of all disputes, if arises, from their contents in the article.

Manuscript Formatting

The manuscript should be prepared as follows.

  • The submission file must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc / .docx / .rtf) document file format. To avoid joint-word issues, kindly save your file as “Word 97-2003 Document” before submission.
  • Manuscript should be typed with 12-sized Times New Roman fonts and 1.5-spaced. Click here to download the model paper.
  • Manuscript should be ordered as follows: Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Text (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion), Acknowledgements, References, Tables & Figures (labeled properly).
  • Title page contains Title of the Article, Author’s Name and Affiliations with contact details of the corresponding author.
  • The abstract should be well structured, accurately reflecting the content of the article and limited to 250 words.
  • 4-6 Keywords should be indicated separately and arranged in alphabetical order.
  • References should be well-formatted in accordance with the Authors’ Guidelines of the Research Biotica, and should be cited in the text as well.
  • Any numbers, units of measure, equations and special characters should be used clearly, consistently and in accordance with the Instructions for Authors.
  • Tables and figures should be designed, structured and positioned (within the main paper or in separate files) to communicate their content effectively and meet journal standard, while the content and format of their headings and captions should conform precisely to the guidelines.
  • Acknowledgements, permissions, sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest should be complete, accurate and presented in the forms and positions of the journal’s guidelines.

Submission Files

To submit your article in Research Biotica, you need the following files:

  1. Title page (including title of the article with names of all the authors and co-authors, their affiliations and email IDs)
  2. Main manuscript (including title of the article with abstract, keywords, main text, conclusion and references)
  3. Figure files (if any)
  4. Table files (if any)
  5. Any extra files such as supplemental materials, graph/ chart or biographical notes, etc.
